Mummy Makeover

You Grew a Human. Your Body Changed. That's Okay.

Pregnancy is extraordinary. But it is also hard on the body in ways nobody really prepares you for. The stretched skin, the separated muscles, the breasts that changed shape with feeding and then changed again after — these aren't things you can fix with a gym membership or a good skincare routine. They're structural changes, and they need a structural solution if that's what you want. A Mummy Makeover is a combination of surgical procedures designed to address the most common physical changes that pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding leave behind. It's not about vanity. It's about helping women feel comfortable in their own bodies again after years of putting everyone else first. Trusta Medical Center in Dubai approaches every Mummy Makeover as a deeply personal treatment plan. There is no standard package here. What goes into your makeover depends entirely on what has changed for you, what bothers you most, and what your health and recovery situation will realistically allow.

What Exactly Is a Mummy Makeover?

A Mummy Makeover is not one thing. It is a bunch of treatments that are usually done together or one after the other. These treatments help with all the parts of the body that change when you are pregnant and breastfeeding.

The Mummy Makeover usually includes a tuck, breast surgery and liposuction. But every woman is different so we make a plan that is just for her. Some women need to have all three of these things done. Some women only need one or two things done. Some women want to have kinds of treatments too like skin tightening or PRP along, with their surgery.

Women like to have all these things done at the time because it is easier. You only have to go through the anaesthesia one time you only have to take time off from work and your family one time. Then it is all done. You get to see the results of your Mummy Makeover all at once of having to take time off multiple times.

Who Is a Mummy Makeover For?

If you’ve had one or more pregnancies and you’re bothered by physical changes that haven’t responded to diet, exercise, or time — you may be a good candidate. Most women considering a Mummy Makeover are dealing with one or more of the following:

  • A tummy that is loose, protruding, or has a visible pouch even after returning to a healthy weight
  • Separated abdominal muscles (diastasis recti) that cause a bulge or weakness in the core
  • Stretch marks and loose skin around the abdomen and hips
  • Breasts that have lost volume, drooped, or changed shape after breastfeeding
  • Stubborn fat pockets on the flanks, thighs, or hips that won’t shift with exercise
  • A general feeling of being disconnected from your body and wanting to feel like yourself again

The ideal time to have a Mummy Makeover is when you have finished having children, your weight has been stable for several months, and you are in good general health. Your youngest child should be old enough that you can realistically take time to recover without having to lift or carry them constantly.

We recommend waiting 6 to 12 months after finishing breastfeeding before any breast procedures, to allow hormone levels to stabilise and breast tissue to settle into its final shape.

What Does a Mummy Makeover Include. -Trusta Clinic Dubai?

Your Mommy Makeover with Trust A Clinic Dubai will be designed entirely around your concerns. Here is a breakdown of the procedures commonly included in a Mommy Makeover:

Tummy Tuck

A Tummy Tuck is the cornerstone of most Mummy Makeovers. A Tummy Tuck removes the skin that hangs below the belly button repairs separated abdominal muscles and tightens the entire abdominal area to create a flatter profile.

For women no amount of core training will fix the separated abdominal muscles on its own. The muscles have physically. The tissue between them has stretched beyond what exercise can repair. Surgery is the way to bring them back together and restore the flat profile you had before.

A Mummy Makeover includes a Tummy Tuck that can be either a mini or a full tummy tuck. A mini tummy tuck addresses the lower abdomen only. Suits women with mild laxity and no significant muscle separation. A full tummy tuck is more comprehensive. Is the right choice for most post-pregnancy bodies where there is meaningful skin excess and muscle separation.

The incision for a Tummy Tuck is placed low above the pubic area so it sits within the bikini line and stays hidden under underwear and swimwear.

Breast Lift

Pregnancy and breastfeeding change the breasts in two ways: volume is lost and the skin stretches causing the breast to droop. A Breast Lift removes the skin reshapes the breast tissue and repositions the nipple and areola to a higher position.

Many women feel their breasts are not full after weaning. The skin is there. The fullness has gone. A Breast Lift addresses the drooping. Reshapes what remains. Where significant volume has also been lost a Breast Lift can be combined with Breast Augmentation to restore both shape and fullness in one procedure.

There will be some scarring from a Breast Lift and your surgeon will explain where the scars will be. Scars fade over time. Most women feel the improvement is well worth it.

Breast Augmentation

If volume loss is your main concern than drooping Breast Augmentation with implants or fat transfer can restore the fullness you had before pregnancy. Or give you more if that is your preference.

A Breast Augmentation can be combined with a Breast Lift it addresses both shape and volume together delivering a breast rejuvenation in a single procedure.

You can choose from implant options for a Breast Augmentation. Silicone gel implants feel the most natural. Are the most commonly chosen. The size and profile are decided together during your consultation, based on your existing anatomy, chest measurements and the result you want to achieve.

Alternatively you can opt for a transfer for a Breast Augmentation. For women wanting a modest completely natural augmentation fat can be harvested via liposuction from another area of the body and transferred to the breasts. No implants involved.

Breast Reduction

Not every mother wants breasts. Some women find their breasts became heavier or larger during or after pregnancy and never returned to a size that felt comfortable. A Breast Reduction removes tissue to create a lighter more proportionate result. And it relieves the back and shoulder pain that comes with carrying too much weight across the chest.

A Breast Reduction is often described by patients as life-changing. Not cosmetically but physically. The relief from pain and the freedom to move and exercise comfortably again makes an enormous difference to daily life.

Liposuction

Pregnancy redistributes fat in ways that often don’t fully reverse afterwards. The flanks, abdomen, inner thighs and back are common areas where stubborn deposits remain even after returning to a healthy weight. Liposuction removes these pockets precisely contouring the body to better reflect the effort you’ve put into your health and fitness.

When combined with a Tummy Tuck liposuction of the flanks can significantly improve the waist-to-hip ratio and give a more sculpted outcome than the Tummy Tuck alone would achieve.

Note: Liposuction is a contouring tool, not a weight loss procedure. It works best for women who’re close, to their target weight but have localized areas that aren’t responding to exercise.

Recovery. What to Realistically Expect

Patients who’re prepared for what is going to happen after their surgery will recover better. Here is a simple and honest guide to what you can expect after a Mummy Makeover surgery.

The first week is about rest. You need to rest. You will not be able to stand up away after your tummy tuck surgery. This is completely normal and it is only temporary. You will have drains in place for a few days to help get rid of fluid. Your doctor will give you medicine to help with the pain. Most people say it is more uncomfortable than really painful. You will need someone to stay with you and help you for the 5 to 7 days after your Mummy Makeover surgery.

After the week from week 2 to 3 you will start to feel a bit better. You will be able to move more easily and start doing light things every day. By week 2 you can usually. Stand up straight. The swelling and bruising will still be visible. They will start to get better.

From week 4 to 6 most people can go back to work at a desk. Do gentle things. You can usually drive a car again around week 3 or 4 depending on what Mummy Makeover surgery you had. You will need to wear a garment to help your body heal and get the best results from your Mummy Makeover surgery.

After 6 weeks you can start to exercise. You can start with cardio and then slowly get back to more intense exercise. You can usually get back to physical activities after about 3 months.

It takes a while to see the results of your Mummy Makeover surgery. The swelling will take a months to go away completely. You will not see the results of your tummy tuck until about 6 months after your surgery. The results from your breast surgery will be visible sooner within 6 to 8 weeks, after your Mummy Makeover surgery.

Trusta Medical Center

What Happens During Your Consultation?

Your consultation is the most important part of the process. It’s not a sales meeting. It’s a medical assessment and an honest conversation — one where we figure out whether a Mummy Makeover is right for you, and if so, exactly what it should involve.

Here is what you can expect:

  • A detailed discussion of your concerns, your health history, and your goals
  • A physical examination so your surgeon can assess skin quality, tissue laxity, muscle separation, and breast changes
  • An honest recommendation — including what will and won’t make a meaningful difference in your specific case
  • A clear explanation of the procedures being proposed, what the surgery involves, and what recovery looks like
  • A discussion of risks and realistic outcomes — not just the best case scenario
  • Time for all your questions, however many you have

You will never be pressured into a decision. The consultation belongs to you. If you want time to think things over, that’s absolutely fine. Many patients come back for a second conversation before they decide, and that’s always welcomed.
