Feeling healthy does not always mean everything is healthy. Some women health problems develop without clear symptoms. Cervical cell changes, low bone density, and hormone changes can remain unnoticed for years. Preventive women’s health helps identify these changes early. Regular check-ups allow our gynecologist to review your health history and assess possible risk factors. Screening recommendations can also change with age and individual needs.
Our DHA-licensed gynecologists at Trusta Medical Center provide preventive care for women in Downtown Dubai. We use medical history, clinical assessment, and appropriate screening tests to guide your care.
Your check-up may include:
Our team explains your results clearly. We also discuss whether you need follow-up care or further testing.
Women preventive health screening helps us find potential health concerns early. We can monitor changes, understand your risks, and take action before a small concern becomes a bigger problem.
Screening gives us a chance to spot changes before you notice symptoms.
If you have ongoing symptoms, we can use the right tests to investigate what may be causing them. You may benefit from screening if you experience:
Regular visits help us build a clear picture of your health. We compare your current results with previous ones and look for meaningful changes. This approach helps us notice patterns and decide when you need further testing.
Your screening results give us useful information about your health. We can then discuss practical next steps with you, whether that means monitoring a change, adjusting your lifestyle, ordering another test, or starting treatment.
Your annual check-up is the anchor of preventive care. It’s the visit where your gynecologist reviews your full history, checks in on any new symptoms, and decides which screenings you actually need this year, rather than running every test on autopilot.
A well woman check-up gives us a chance to look at your health as a whole. We don’t focus only on your reproductive health. We also talk about your symptoms, lifestyle, periods, hormones, and any concerns you may have.
During the visit, we may discuss:
An annual gynecology visit usually covers routine checks. A well woman visit gives us more time to talk about what’s happening with your health.
You may want to discuss heavy periods, contraception, changes after pregnancy, menopause symptoms, or other concerns. We listen to what you’re experiencing and recommend the checks you actually need. You don’t need every test at every visit. We look at your age, health history, symptoms, and risk factors before suggesting any screening or tests.
A pelvic examination lets our gynecologists check the vulva, vagina, cervix, uterus, and ovaries. We don’t perform this exam automatically at every visit. We first consider your symptoms, medical history, and screening needs.
The examination usually includes:
The exam usually takes just a few minutes. We’ll explain what we’re doing as we go. If you feel uncomfortable, let us know. You can also ask for a chaperone.
During a clinical breast examination, our gynecologists check your breasts and nearby lymph nodes. We look for lumps, swelling, skin changes, or anything else that needs a closer look. A breast exam doesn’t replace a mammogram or other imaging when you need it. We recommend imaging based on your age, symptoms, and personal risk factors.
You don’t need to perform a formal breast self-exam every month. Instead, get familiar with how your breasts normally look and feel.
Tell us if you notice:
If you notice something unusual, don’t wait until your next check-up. Contact our team so we can examine it and decide if you need further tests.
A Pap smear screens for abnormal cervical cells before they turn into cancer, and it remains one of the most effective cancer screening tools in gynecology. We’ve written a full breakdown of what to expect, how often to test, and how results are read on our Pap smear page. As part of your preventive health visit, our gynecologists confirm whether you’re due based on your age and screening history.
HPV screening checks for the virus responsible for most cervical cancer cases, often run alongside or instead of a standalone Pap smear depending on your age. The vaccine, given as a series of doses, protects against the HPV strains most linked to cervical and other cancers.
The vaccine works best before HPV exposure occurs, which is why it’s recommended in the early teenage years. That said, catch-up vaccination is available well into adulthood, and our gynecologists can advise whether it still makes sense for you based on your age and history.
Many sexually transmitted infections cause no symptoms at all, which makes routine screening the only reliable way to catch them. Left untreated, some can affect fertility or increase other health risks down the line.
Testing frequency depends on age, number of partners, and risk factors, and our gynecologists tailor the panel accordingly rather than running a blanket test for everyone.
A pelvic ultrasound uses sound waves to create images of the uterus, ovaries, and surrounding structures. It helps investigate abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, fibroids, cysts, or anything unusual found during a physical exam.
A transabdominal ultrasound scans through the belly and gives a broad overview. A transvaginal ultrasound uses a thin probe inside the vagina and produces a much clearer, closer image of the uterus and ovaries. Our gynecologists often use both together for the most complete picture, depending on what they’re investigating.
Hormonal blood tests measure levels of estrogen, progesterone, FSH, LH, thyroid hormones, and other markers that affect your cycle, fertility, mood, and energy. They help explain symptoms that a physical exam alone can’t diagnose.
Bone density naturally declines with age, and the drop accelerates after menopause as estrogen levels fall. An osteoporosis risk assessment identifies that decline early, well before a fracture forces the issue.
Guidelines generally recommend bone density testing starting around age 65, or earlier for women with risk factors such as early menopause, a family history of osteoporosis, or long-term steroid use. Our gynecologists review your individual risk factors to determine whether earlier screening makes sense for you.
Preventive care works best when it’s consistent, not occasional. Book a women’s preventive health visit at our Downtown Dubai clinic, and our gynecologists will build a screening plan around your age, history, and goals.
